About The Program.
Between The Lines is a nonprofit organization focused on reducing recidivism through mentorship, educational programming, reintegration services, and utilizing sports as a form of therapy. Additionally, we provide a platform for incarcerated individuals to share their unique stories, connecting them with the outside world and offering a deeper understanding of their experiences. Our mission is to build bridges between the incarcerated population and society, creating opportunities for growth and rehabilitation.
WHAT WE DO.
Mentorship
Our volunteers come from diverse career backgrounds and experiences, united by a shared passion for supporting incarcerated individuals. Each volunteer brings unique insights and skills, enriching the mentorship experience. By serving as mentors, they inspire the incarcerated population, offering guidance and support that extends beyond prison walls.
Educational Programming
Our educational programming at Between the Lines centers around our book club, where we strategically select books that resonate with the hardships our members have shared. These stories highlight how others have overcome similar challenges, providing valuable insights and inspiration.
Recreational Therapy
At Between the Lines, we harness the power of recreational therapy through sports to connect individuals from all backgrounds and promote a shared sense of purpose. Sports principles, such as teamwork, resilience, and discipline, are transferable to life principles, providing valuable lessons that extend beyond the game.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between the incarcerated population and the broader community.
